Praise for this book
I’ve just read your book - it’s so interesting. I found it very useful that you went through each portrait and gave your reasons for what you believed. And the discovery of a lost image was really exciting.
Excellent book with great portraits!
I would highly recommend this book to all history buffs as well as anyone who is interested in classic art. It was evident to me that Ms. LaVasse has a great knowledge about Anne Boleyn and portraiture. The book goes into depth but is not overwhelming with details. Lots of high quality pictured of the portraits are also included. I'm excited to read more by this author.
This is an amazing book ! I don't want to say too much or give spoilers, so hopefully my review isn't too vague....I found this book to be an amazing perspective and analysis of visual portrayals of one of history's most iconic women. This book not only thoughtfully discusses possible contemporary and posthumous portraits of Anne Boleyn, it covers important theories discussed and disputed by art historians... it also takes a fresh look at the works themselves from new and fascinating perspectives. I am hoping for; and eagerly awaiting more History in Portraits books by Ms. LaVasse!
